About me
I am a Fellow Chartered Accountant, CFA® charterholder, Chartered Wealth Manager® and Registered Valuer in the asset class of Securities or Financial Assets. My professional background covers chartered accountancy practice as well as valuation, financial analysis, credit and project finance.
As a practising Chartered Accountant, I have handled statutory, internal, tax and concurrent audits; direct and indirect tax compliance and proceedings; valuation assignments; financial models and projections; project reports; credit assessments; and finance-related advisory matters. Depending on the assignment, the work may involve reviewing financial statements, accounting records, internal controls, tax positions, cash flows, funding requirements, business assumptions and supporting documents.
These assignments have involved government and public-sector organisations, banks and NBFCs, listed and unlisted companies, owner-managed businesses, societies, trusts, professionals and individuals. An earlier role in retail credit also provided direct exposure to borrower assessment, banking behaviour, existing obligations, repayment capacity and policy compliance. That experience remains relevant when I review cash flows, leverage, project feasibility and funding proposals.
I also enjoy teaching and mentoring. I welcome students, working professionals and career changers at different stages of study or work, particularly those interested in finance and related fields. Discussions may cover career choices, qualifications, learning priorities and practical skills.
